Do you need extra income? Are you at the end of a fixed-term contract? Are you looking for at least a part-time job? Or a rewarding activity alongside a permanent position?
You’re considering the sales sector. And job offers in the ready-to-wear field, especially women’s fashion, catch your eye because you’re interested in the professions and expertise related to clothing and, more broadly, fashion items.
Being a sales assistant or ready-to-wear sales consultant is not something you can improvise. ELORA, a leading company in home fashion sales, keeps you informed every step of the way!
WHAT IS A FASHION SALESWOMAN?
The role of a fashion salesperson, whether in a boutique or at home, is to guide clients in discovering the products during their shopping journey.
The driving force of the activity is to have an advisory role in clothing choices, fittings, and sizes, in order to find for each client the items best suited to their style and body shape.
Being a fashion saleswoman or sales consultant is truly a passion job, a type of work that requires a lot of empathy with clients.
Whatever your skills or starting job, if you want to succeed in fashion sales, you need to love fashion, have a good commercial sense and/or benefit from appropriate training.
The wording of job offers and the selection of profiles by recruiters vary depending on each brand, chain, or boutique, but there is one constant. A fashion saleswoman or sales consultant must, in the job market, position herself as an "expert in client advice."
A fashion specialist, driven by real motivation, she aims to create a climate of trust, whether in-store or at home. The ultimate goal is to help her clients leave with the products they've been dreaming of, while offering them a wonderful shopping experience.
THE ACTIVITIES OF OUR SALES CONSULTANTS
At ELORA, there's no such thing as repetitive and stressful work. Nothing like a job in a big store, at the checkout or even as a department manager, with the only goal being to get your paycheck at the end of the month!
Just like a saleswoman in a fashion store, the activity of our independent Fashion Consultants at home is structured at ELORA around the following skills:
- helping clients choose their clothes and wear them well;
- enabling clients to select items that suit their body shape;
- providing qualified and professional image consulting;
- knowing how to analyze the needs, desires, and tastes previously expressed by clients.
It's a much more human and friendly approach than in large retail! It's not about following repetitive instructions to the letter, or keeping up with a daily work pace in a store, or feeling "stuck" in the constraints of an employment contract.
At ELORA, a home fashion saleswoman is her own boss. She sets her own sales goals, based on her personality, the time she has available, and her expectations in terms of income.
Good to know: organizing just two home sales sessions per week can bring in income comparable to a minimum wage salary, while still allowing you to keep your company job on the side!
WHAT ARE THE ESSENTIAL SKILLS FOR THE SALES CONSULTANT ROLE?
Being a good ready-to-wear saleswoman requires several essential qualities and skills:
- feel comfortable in the sales sector;
- have strong interpersonal skills;
- be rigorous and responsible;
- see yourself as an ambassador for the brand, its products, and its offers;
- know the products well, in detail, to give good advice;
- express yourself convincingly, with a tone that is both warm and professional;
- feel a genuine motivation for your field and for client relationships.
STUDIES TO FOLLOW TO WORK AS A SALES CONSULTANT
At ELORA, whatever your background, experience, or previous careers, we offer training and a dynamic professional environment, allowing you to confidently start your home-based ready-to-wear sales activity.
Our only requirements: a strong passion for fashion, along with the essential qualities needed for the job.
Therefore, we are not specifically looking for applications with a "Bac Pro Commercial," "BTS in sales," or "DUT in sales techniques." While these types of training are a plus, they are not, for our company, a real selection criterion.
Not having a diploma shouldn't hold you back from pursuing your professional life or from wanting to respond to our offers. We don't require a long CV or a three-page cover letter. When reviewing your application, we consider your motivation for the work of a saleswoman, as well as your natural passion for fashion, as the two key elements to help you succeed as a home-based saleswoman. At Elora, you can work in fashion without a diploma.
QUALITIES OF A GOOD SALES CONSULTANT
- Be attentive: a fashion consultant is constantly in touch with clients. To find the perfect outfit for each of your clients, you need to quickly identify their needs and intuitively understand what they want to wear (or... what they definitely won't want to wear!);
- Stay on top of trends and the fashion direction of the new ELORA collections: a fashion saleswoman is seen as a true expert in clothing and looks;
- Be enthusiastic: the shopping experience should be enjoyable from start to finish, for every client, just as much as in a boutique;
- Be patient: choosing new clothes isn't easy for everyone. The decision to buy may take time and require highly personalized advice.
In short, be professional and committed, every step of the way!
If you feel you meet these criteria, you're ready to apply for a sales associate / fashion advisor position, so go for it! You can then become a home-based sales associate.
To find your dream job at ELORA, all you have to do is fill out our contact form or call us to discover our offers and benefit from our advice.
You can get detailed answers to all your practical questions. For example: How should I submit my application and possible cover letter? Then, how does the training work? And my first fashion sale? How is it different from working in a store? What type of contract will I have with the brand? If I'm already working, do I need to resign from my job? How do I check my agreements with my current employer? And so on.
REQUIRED TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
At ELORA, we constantly offer new opportunities for you to join our ready-to-wear sales team. What sets us apart as a recruiter and employer is that we welcome a wide variety of profiles and provide free training tailored to each sales associate's background and expectations.
Depending on your strengths and weaknesses, your skills, and your needs for technical knowledge, we offer several training modules focused on client relations, product knowledge, marketing, and more.
Coached from the start by a "mentor," who is already an experienced team member, you'll benefit from these trainings, either in the field or remotely online. All are optional and free.
DEVELOPING SALES AND CONSULTING SKILLS
A sales associate at ELORA is a true sales advisor. That's why every new team member has the opportunity to develop their skill set, to become a "Fashion Consultant" (fashion advisor). This involves general training as well as more specific sessions on home sales techniques.
Become a Fashion Consultant at Elora also means being an advisor, even a personal stylist, which includes expertise in styling, color analysis, body shape, matching clothes to clients' personalities, and more.
With ELORA, step into the exciting professional world of fashion! At a time when everyone is seeking connection and emotion, you'll find an exceptional place in a forward-looking industry.
