VDI: becoming an image consultant

How do you coach your customers when you're a VDI?

1. The image advice interview: what does your customer expect?
Before starting image advice, it's important to discuss your client's expectations in a face-to-face meeting. This meeting will enable you to understand her desires, her needs and her vision of fashion.
2. Colour analysis: which colours suit your customer best?
To bring out the best in someone, the colours they wear have to be well chosen. This is where colour analysis comes in. It allows you to determine which colours suit your customer best, based on her skin, eyes and hair colour. We've already given you an introduction to colorimetry in this article.
3. Body shape analysis: what is your customer's body shape?
There are many different shapes and sizes of women. Determining your customer's morphology will help you to know which types of garment to choose to enhance her figure. To do this, take a look at our special morphology article!
4. Clothing style: which style suits your customer's personality?
Choosing what suits your customer is good, choosing what she likes is even better! Based on the colourimetry test, her morphology and her tastes, make her several outfits that you can present to her in a showroom. Urban chic, glam rock, bohemian... the Elora collection comes in all styles.
5. From VDI to personal shopper: how do you go about it?
During private sales, don't hesitate to make her a selection of items that reflect her image and show her the outfits you've designed for her. Coach her in her choice of clothes, guiding her towards pieces that show her off and make her feel good. That's what being a VDI and personal shopper is all about!
6. VDI and planning: how do you get organised?
Finally, don't neglect your organisation. Keep a schedule of appointments and showrooms (private sales) and pay special attention to your regular customers.
As an image consultant, it's important to make appointments with your most loyal customers. Listen to them so that you can always advise them on their purchases.
