What's your body type?
How do you know your body type?
15 SEPTEMBER 2023
Every body type has its own assets. You just need to know how to show it off with the right clothes, based on your body structure, your figure and your shape. Whatever your measurements. It's all about knowing how to build your self-confidence... and how to choose cuts that suit your body type.
Knowing your body type will enable you to select the right type of clothes for your figure and your style, so you can dress in a way that makes you feel good and overcome certain complexes.
In practical terms, it's the best way to make the right choice, to keep up with fashion without getting carried away by unattractive cuts and accumulating unwanted pieces in your wardrobe.
THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF WOMEN AND HOW TO DRESS THEM
Based on the fact that almost 90% of women say they don't know how to identify their morphology with certainty, ELORA takes a look at the issue with you.
To dress for your body shape, the first step is to study your figure as objectively as possible, without focusing on minor flaws that are common to all women.
It's important to remember that body shape advice takes into account your figure as a whole, like a fashion sketch, based on your bone structure and the general look of your body, and not your shapes or measurements in detail. An H-shaped woman cannot and will never be an 8, an A-shaped woman has nothing to do with a V-shaped woman, and so on.
Some women evolve over time, or fall between two different body shapes. In this case, it's the dominant features of the silhouette and the body as a whole that need to be taken into account when choosing clothes, looking at the balance between shoulders and hips, as well as the waistline (or lack of waistline).
Take the test !
Put on some dark, plain, close-fitting clothes (such as bodysuits and leggings) and then stand in front of a large mirror, tape measure in hand. Your measurements are not there to make you feel self-conscious; on the contrary, they're there to help you put some preconceived ideas into perspective !
Take a good look at your body shape, aware of the femininity it exudes. Then look to see whether or not your waistline is well defined, and how your shoulders and hips line up with the rest of your body.
Of course, everything can be measured, but you're not taking an exam... Just remember that very few women are satisfied with their bodies when they look in the mirror or fall for the man of their dreams. And that's a shame !
At ELORA, we guide you and help you to better appreciate your body and understand how to enhance it, even if you think you're too bony... or too luscious.
These few morphological tips are part of the know-how of the the brand's personal stylistsTo enjoy without moderation. Treat yourself!
X-shaped morphology
Xs are generally slim, with shoulders and hips in line. They have a particularly defined waist and an "hourglass" silhouette.
Are you in X? You can dress however you like, following fashion trends... All clothes suit you, you can wear everything with class, except for cuts that are too wide, which risk creating discomfort by floating around you. Adolescents, who find it hard to assume their feminine shape, sometimes have this problem: they can afford it, but when they reach adulthood, it's best to avoid it.
The key is to play up your natural harmony, while highlighting your waistline. That's why you should opt for body-hugging cuts and belts. For tops, go for tight-fitting tops and fitted jackets. Don't hesitate to try high-waisted trousers with a push-up effect, as well as textured pieces that highlight the slimness of your legs.

Morphology in 8
8s have more or less the same morphology as Xs, with their aligned hips and shoulders and their marked waistline. Women 8Are more generously shaped, with slightly rounded breasts, shoulders and hips. This pretty, luscious 'pin-up' figure is generally considered sexy and glamorous.
Are you an 8? Depending on your style, sheath dresses will suit you perfectly, as will off-the-shoulder cuts and slim-fitting dresses.
Like X-women, emphasise the natural alignment of your body while emphasising your waist. For everyday wear, slightly low-cut tops will free up your bust and emphasise your bust, while straight, high-waisted trousers will show off your marked waist and legs, while blurring your small tummy. Dare to try soft belted dresses and short cuts, which will lengthen your legs.

A-shaped morphology
A shapes - known as triangles or pyramids - have a slim bust, with small shoulders and generally small breasts. They flare out at the hips. It's a very common and resolutely feminine silhouette !
Do you have this type of body shape? You can go all out for the bust! Play with colours, patterns and details to give more structure to your shoulders. Clothes with epaulettes will look particularly good on you, and you can easily dress up your outfits with fashionable jackets. When it comes to trousers, keep it simple...

V-shaped morphology
V-shaped women - also known as inverted triangles or pyramids - have a sporty look, with their upper body wider than their lower body, giving them a shaped waist. Their shoulders are square, their breasts unobtrusive, while their hips are narrow and their legs slender.
Unlike A's, V's can go all out for bottoms. Choose flowing fabrics for tops, with sober shapes and colours. For trousers or skirts, opt for a little width, with patterns or colours that will liven things up. Bootcut jeans, flared skirts and trousers and wrap dresses will particularly flatter your figure.

H-shaped morphology
Lah-shaped morphology, the rectangle is associated with models and their near-perfect measurements. It's a tall, lanky, even androgynous figure, with aligned hips and shoulders. H-shaped women are generally slim, with small breasts, a flat stomach and structured shoulders.
The ideal style of clothing for an H-shaped woman emphasises the shoulders and adds volume to the hips, to emphasise the waist and make the silhouette more glamorous. Wispy or draped tops, as well as small tops in trendy colours and prints, will work well with slightly flared trousers or skirts.
If, on the other hand, you like inclusive fashion, borrow a few pieces from the men's wardrobe, especially for tops that are well cut and shouldered: jackets, waistcoats or shirts !

Morphology in O
You're curvaceous, you've got a big bust, a small waistline with a tummy, and your shoulders are in line with your hips: you're a pure type O !
Instead of having a complex about your body and its measurements, which you think are too generous, find out how to make fashion trends and tips your own. Listen to our advice and learn how to draw attention to the strong points of your femininity, rather than obsessing over the size shown on clothing labels, or trying to hide behind shapeless cuts...
The best friends of O-shaped women? Cleavage and/or flashy shoulder accessories! Low-cut tops will enhance the sensuality of your breasts. For bottoms, opt for flowing fabrics (not too wide) and straight cuts. If you're wearing a dress, choose one that's close to the body and slip on a sleeveless cardigan or loose-fitting jacket that falls to the hips.
Our tip: heels will give you a slimmer silhouette, especially with ankle boots, which would otherwise tend to flatten out.
