Books on Direct Selling: how to be a top Home Salesperson?
- LA VENTE DIRECTE POUR LES NULS, Editions First, 2016.
If you're just starting out on the adventure of direct selling and have just become a VDI - Vendeur Indépendant à Domicile - we recommend the book "La Vente Directe pour les Nuls" ( 2016) written by Chloé Lavie, a consultant specialising in the development and management of franchise networks. It's an easy-to-read guide to the history of door-to-door selling, the players in the direct selling sector, and the best practices and tips to apply when setting up as an independent door-to-door seller and developing your network! A bible - quite thick, but available in paperback - to devour again and again
- DEVENEZ UNE SUPERSTAR DE LA VENTE DIRECTE, Editions Un Monde Différent, 2015.
Devenez une Superstar de la Vente Directe is a book written by Mary Christensen, who after more than 20 years' experience in the door-to-door sales sector, decided to share her best practices with novice direct sellers. Step by step, you will learn how to set up your own business or boost an existing one; how to expand your network of buyers from the family circle to a wider circle of customers; how to support your hostesses; how to organise home sales or sales meetings in the best possible way and, above all, how to respond to any objections. Sounds promising!

A book on personal development
- POUVOIR ILLIMITE, Editions J'ai lu, 2008.
Bring out the entrepreneur in you and let the 'boss' in you express herself! A book on personal development is always a good way to put your goals in perspective, develop your mindset and perform. That's theaim of Anthony Robbins' bookUnlimited Power. Thanks to his sound advice, you can develop your potential as a VDI (independent door-to-door salesperson), improve your interpersonal skills in front of customers, get rid of your fears and learn a lot about NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) in order to achieve your goals and optimise your sales prospecting. You can pick and choose according to your needs - the book is pretty dense!
A book about the beginnings of home selling
- UNE HEROINE AMERICAINE, Editions Le Livre de Poche, 2015.
A little more light-hearted this time, Elora also suggests, in her reading list, a true story that deals with the birth of home selling by following the unusual life of an American woman, Brownie Wise. Une héroine américaine, by Bénédicte Jourgeaud, recounts the true story of Brownie, a housewife who, in her own way, changed the lives of other women by developing the Tupperware concept then created by a certain Earl Tupper. Half a century later, Amelia Earhart, a young French student exiled across the Atlantic, shook up the university microcosm with her free spirit. Brownie and Amelia, two extraordinary women from two different eras, brought together by fate. Together, each in her own way, will they be able to change the world without sacrificing their lives as women?
Winner of the Prix du Livre Romantique, chaired by Evelyne Bloch-Dano, biographer and novelist.
