Fashion trends for autumn winter 2023
08 SEPTEMBER 2023
Will this autumn/winter season be the season of chic and freedom? The fashion shows and Fashion Week collections have reinvented and re-enchanted the dominant fashion code: the T-shirt + jeans + trainers combo. The new fashion trends now symbolise boldness, creativity and inclusion.
Let's take a look at ELORA, a creative and committed brand and one of the leaders in home-selling ready-to-wear, which unveiled its Autumn Winter collections.
Travel, Travel
To our great delight, the materials, shapes and colour combinations of clothes from other parts of the world are influencing fashion, far from the drab "shorts and slippers" look inherited from the days of confinement. This autumn, we're delighted to discover these natural, vibrant colours, spicy tones ranging from curry to saffron, cucurma or red chilli pepper, pink and ochre, contrasting colours and ethnic patterns in prints that evoke Africa, Asia, zebra or cashmere..
The season's catwalks never cease to charm us with their new trends and inspirations from the four corners of the world, and their kaleidoscope of colour combinations to create a unique style.
This season's fashion trend offers us seductive pieces (dresses, pleated skirts, ponchos...), which play on a combination of sober palettes and natural materials. The collections offer us a fashionable way to get back to basics, giving us a very streamlined look..
To quote the great Coco Chanel: "Fashion goes out of fashion, style never does"
In the run-up to the festive season, we're on the lookout for fabrics and textures full of softness and fluidity: velvet, vegetable leather and lyocell. We're looking for outfits in muted, mineral and vegetal hues, with subtle hints of silver or effervescent touches, like the dark orange and red that light up the season.
The same restrained code of elegance was applied to accessories, dominated by black, grey and warm beige. All of which combine to create original looks that cultivate the softness of curves.
The mystery of colours, the subtlety of details, shapes and textures... let yourself be drawn into a spellbinding multi-sensory spiral. To quote Hubert de Givenchy, one of the world's best-known fashion designers, who founded the famous house of Givenchy that bears his name: "It's the fabrics that inspire me first. Then comes the creation (of the design) and knowing how to give fabrics the best possible value."
We're following the trend!
The women of generations Y and Z dare to assert not only their originality, but also their freedom and open-mindedness. They observe trends and make them their own, according to their personal style and current look. They're crazy about plant-based leather and faux fur, in both rock and urban chic versions...
Whatever their social background, whatever their profession, whatever their figure: Miu, the graceful superheroine of "Copenhagen Cowboy", or Marianne James in her heyday.
This autumn/winter, the Elora woman is an elegant woman with a sophisticated look, sober but luxurious, a femme fatale who plays freely with her look and her allure. Her wardrobe confirms her desire to sublimate everyday life. She chooses her favourite pieces with eclecticism, from dresses to cropped trousers and faux-leather shorts.
She's also a fighter, an assertive and original woman, willingly wearing a few pieces inspired by men's collections, with a reminiscence of the Roaring Twenties, a dandy version, à la Rudolph Valentino: suit jacket, officer's collar coat, cream trousers, tie, white shirt...
Without going all "The Devil Wears Prada", this autumn/winter's collections offer a certain pleasure in dressing with style and putting together glamorous outfits. We're back with more sophisticated looks, often put on hold since the Covid. We're once again daring to wear dresses, make-up and provocative lipsticks...
Long skirts and dresses for everyday wear, even in autumn and winter? Fans agree: these catwalk queens know how to take to the streets... and it doesn't take long to get used to them, and the big boots that go with them. All you have to do is feel like it!
Glamour and relaxation!
As soon as autumn arrives, don't hesitate to wear these seductive pieces from the new collections, which play on sober palettes and combinations of noble materials. Choose them carefully, with the help of Elora's consultants, who are trained in morphology and personal styling. To find one near you, just click!
Whether it's for a romantic autumn weekend away, a festive evening as winter approaches, or an essential business meeting, we'll choose pieces that combine comfort and fun... Throughout the autumn-winter season, we'll need to forget about the dreariness of the weather, with a look that reconciles cocooning and style.
The 'flowing dress, velvet, rhinestones and maxi belt buckles' trend, which will sublimate our winter, responds to a need for affirmation after the crisis. We're thinking back to the "Saturday night fever" that took hold in the mid-1970s, to the sound of the Bee Gees, in the midst of the Vietnam War and student rebellions.
Miuccia Prada, founder and designer of the Miu Miu brand, talks about a world of fashion that she has seen change: "What you wear reflects the way you present yourself to the world, especially today, when contacts are made so quickly. Fashion is a language."
In contrast to the protest movement of the time, however, it wasn't a question of asserting a flashy look. We're flirting with the half-tone style of the 'neo-bourgeois' and 'coconut' trends. For autumn 2023, forget the vertiginous neckline, fluorescent colours and sequins (even on sale... no, no, we're not falling for it!)..
Golds, bronzes and silvers are softly combined with blacks, creamy whites and powder pinks. Even bags are getting in on the act this season!
Iconic, timeless looks!
For festive winter outings, we're adopting a casual chic dress code. We're going for timeless, elegant clothes, three-quarter coats in camel, tartan scarves and floaty blouses!
Our favourites are vintage colours and prints, which are so on-trend when enhanced with fashion accessories, and the essential black and white duo, in zebra, chequered, woven or striped patterns... in the style of Mondrian or Yves Saint Laurent, which adds punch to any outfit! As Yves Saint Laurent once said: "Black is my refuge, black is a line on the white page"
Style flirts with preppy. At the height of the trend, ELORA offers tailored jackets, pleated skirts, chic coats or faux furs, highly structured trousers, fashion jumpers, little black or red dresses... It's as if, after the all-out sportswear and streetwear fashions, the trends are returning to the clichés.
One of our star pieces is the skirt, delicious for a romantic dinner or a festive evening at the end of the year... At the height of the trend, it triumphs in a minimalist, no-bling style. When it comes to jewellery, we're opting for gold or pearls, a fantasy version without ostentation.
Minimalist, responsible dressing
We can't help but love this easy-going fashion, which is totally in tune with the times! The trend is for fluid, comfortable clothes in natural, mineral-based colours, made fromeco-responsible, organic or recycled materials.
The trend is towards sober colour combinations. But that doesn't mean there can't be a fiery touch of bright orange (THE accessory colour of the autumn winter season!), Indian pink or garnet red.
Anticipating a return to optimism and freedom, winter will be marked by the return of prints! These autumn and winter prints are pared-back, like an invitation to softness, with motifs blended in half-tone: geometric, ethnic or wild, especially floral... In short, we're playing it sober but cultivating a radiant lightness, imbued with emotion. We think of Valentino Garavani, creator of the famous Valentino label which still proudly bears his first name, when he said: "Elegance is the balance between proportions, emotion and surprise"
ELORA's creators and stylists offer us a lovely fashion lesson by way of conclusion: "Concentrate on the essentials, that's the idea. The trend is reminiscent of the advent of minimalism in the 1990s. Could fashion in 2023 follow the same path?
