What is a VDI job?
VDI work involves selling the products or services of a company with which you have signed a written distribution contract. A VDI is not an employee of the brand he or she represents, but a self-employed person with individual entrepreneur status.
Do I need any qualifications to become a VDI?
No. At Elora, beginners are accepted in the same way as those with experience. What counts? Motivation, a love of fashion and excellent people skills.

Is the VDI status recognised by the State?
Yes, this status is recognised by the State and regulated by law. VDIs with agent status are covered by the general social security scheme. Buyer-resellers, on the other hand, are covered by the Social Security system for the self-employed (SSI).
What do I need to do to become a VDI?
The VDI status was conceived and designed to limit administrative procedures and constraints.
To start working as a VDI, self-employed home sellers simply need to provide their company with their social security number.
What products can I sell?
Cosmetics, cleaning products, lingerie, jewellery, sex toys, kitchen equipment, candles, ready-to-wear, etc. There's something for everyone in home selling. However, you are not allowed to sell financial or property services.
How do I become a VDI?
- Choose a brand.
- Complete the administrative formalities to obtain VDI status.
- Take the brand's training course.
- Attend meetings to familiarise yourself with the VDI profession.
- Start prospecting for customers.

What are the obligations for VDIs?
- Work under a registered status.

How do I find VDI customers ?
Make the most of your personal network! Friends, family, neighbours, work colleagues, local businesses: there are plenty of ways to do this. You can also try to reach new customers for your work via social networks.
How do you manage meetings as a VDI?
- Choose the meeting venue with the hostess.
- Send out invitations 7 days before the meeting (+ reminder 2 days before). Don't hesitate to use social networks!
- Host the meeting.
- Collect the order forms.
- Specify delivery arrangements.
Is it possible to make a full-time living as a VDI?
Yes, it is possible to make a living from door-to-door sales. To earn a minimum wage, you need to hold at least two meetings a week. Earnings depend on the effort you put in and your selling skills.
Do independent home sellers have targets to meet?
The only targets you have to meet are the ones you set yourself. Choose them according to your taste for a challenge and your personal objectives.
