Home sales of fashion clothing
02 NOVEMBER 2022
Home shopping sometimes has a somewhat outdated image, especially when it comes to fashion. And yet it couldn't be further from the truth. Brands like Elora offer collections that are firmly rooted in the times, attracting thousands of fashion-conscious women every year and inspiring sales consultants to create cutting-edge looks.
Being an image consultant at home meetings
If you like meeting new people and have a strong love of fashion, being an image consultant is probably for you. This job involves selling fashion clothes in your own home (or in the homes of hostess customers).
The meetings are real moments of conviviality where customers can take the time to discover the clothes, try them on and ask for personalised advice. Your job? To help them find looks that make them feel beautiful, comfortable and in tune with the times, whatever the occasion. So it's not just a question of pushing them to buy at any price, but of understanding their personality and their needs.
Advising your customers on different body shapes
A good image consultant stands out for her ability to identify pieces that will make her clients look their best. One of the keys to success is the ability to identify different body types.
Body shapes in 8
Generous lines (from luscious to very luscious), hips and shoulders in the same line and a pronounced waist: these are the characteristics of a figure 8.
The X shape
Like figure 8s, X-shaped women also have a pronounced waist and similar shoulder and hip size. The main difference is that they tend to be slimmer.
The A shape
Women with an A shape have generous hips and a narrower upper body.
V shape
A V-shape is characterised by broad shoulders and a narrower waist.
The H shape
Women with an H-shaped figure have a waist that is not very pronounced, if at all. The challenge for the image consultant is to play with the shapes of the clothes to create a visual illusion of size.
Advise your customers according to their colourimetry
Analysing the colours and undertones of the skin, hair and eyes helps to define the colour profile of each client. In other words, it helps to determine the colours that suit their complexion best.
In practice, there are 4 types of profile.
Spring women
- Her colours: warm and full of life! Yellow, gold, orange and orange-red, brick red, coral, bright green, turquoise, aquatic tones..
- Colours to avoid: cold, dark colours. Grey, black, white, old pink, pastel colours..
The summer woman
- Her colours: light, cool and matt. Blue, white, pastels, pale pink, ice brown, taupe, blue-green and all colours with an aged look (containing grey) like old rose.
- Colours to avoid: colours that are too dark, such as violet, colours with yellow undertones, red..
Autumn women
- Her colours: warm, bold and close to nature. Orange, ochre, mustard, khaki, paprika, duck blue, rust..
- Colours to avoid: cold colours, black and white.
Winter women
- Colours: cool but bright! Emerald green, burgundy, violet, purple, navy blue..
- Colours to avoid: warm tones.
