What are the different styles of dress?
02 JUNE 2021
Do you think you have your own style of dress, but you're looking to define it further to get inspired by the latest trends? If you're in the midst of finding your style and need to know what seems to suit you best, it's time to take a look at the different styles of dress that exist. You should be aware, however, that a style of dress can be modified to suit you and that nothing is fixed in the world of fashion: anything goes! A look may look great on someone else but not on you, so don't skip the fitting stage when you want to change your style.
The classic style
Durable and timeless, the classic style remains elegant and chic. The clothes are of good quality, simple, sober and neat. There's no need to follow the latest trends to opt for this look, which remains a safe bet both at work and at home.
In a classic woman's dressing room, you'll find a trench coat, a white shirt, a blazer jacket, a cashmere jumper, a straight dress, a pair of jeans with no holes, leather gloves and other basic pieces. These pieces can be twisted to suit the latest trends.
Bohemian style
As its name suggests, the bohemian style is non-conformist, inspired by the hippy era. However, it can be brought up to date with trendy pieces, such as openwork tops. A bohemian style can be totally fashionable if the pieces are well accessorised.
A bohemian woman's wardrobe might include a long skirt, a faux fur waistcoat, a tunic, fringed handbags, long necklaces, suede boots and a poncho.
The minimalist style
The philosophy behind the minimalist style is to have fewer, but higher quality pieces. Clothes must also fit perfectly to show you off to best advantage. So they can be used in a variety of ways and in all your outfits.
In a minimalist woman's dressing room, you'll find a simple, tailored jacket, the classic little black dress, a suit, a designer handbag and a winter coat that will stand up to several seasons.
At the heart of the trend with fashionista style
As a catwalk enthusiast, do you have a tendency to plough through all the latest fashion trends to incorporate them into your looks? If so, you can easily adopt the fashionista look. This style is rather difficult to maintain, as trends change every season, forcing you to shop regularly.
To keep up with the trends, you need to pay attention to the colours, accessories, cuts and jeans you choose.
The natural or sporty style
Casual and comfortable, this style is very simple and made up of clothes that don't require a lot of maintenance. Lovers of nature, they like simplicity and want to be able to move around freely.
To pull off this style, you'll need jeans, a fairly simple plain jumper, a pair of trendy sneakers, some jewellery and a rucksack.
Here are the different clothing styles that stand out from the rest in today's trends. With this, you can find your style and get an idea of what you might like in terms of looks. Of course, it's up to you to choose a style and make it your own, adding your own personal touch.
