The Federation of Direct Home Sales (FVD)
03 MARCH 2017
For over 50 years, the FVD - Fédération de la Vente Directe - has been working passionately to recognise and develop the3rd largestdistribution channel in France: direct sales.
The FVD, representing companies in the direct selling sector
Formerly known as theAssociation Nationale pour la Vente et le Service à Domicile (ANSVD) and then as the Syndicat de la Vente à Domicile, the FVD (for Fédération de la Vente Directe) came into being in 2001, along with a new, more impactful graphic identity.
For fifty years, the FVD has established itself as the main observatory for a new and powerful sales channel, excluding in-store sales and distance selling (such as the Internet): direct selling and its interests. To date, it is the only representative body for companies that have chosen to address consumers directly through a network of individual or group sales representatives.
What does the Fédération de la Vente Directe do?
The main aim of the Fédération de la Vente Directe is to gain recognition for Direct Sales and its professions at national and international level. The FVD works with member companies, public authorities and consumers to raise the profile of this distribution model. In France in 2015, Direct Sales accounted for sales of €4.04 billion, with 640,215 people working in the sector. It's a highly promising sector, revolutionising employment and remuneration!
From a territorial point of view, the FVD is particularly active within the French regions, having assigned a Regional President to each of the 12 zones it has established, as well as a President for the French overseas departments and territories. By having a dedicated local representative, the FVD is able to promote a particularly structured network and a commitment to supporting companies and facilitating dialogue with all its stakeholders.
Its related mission, and not the least important, is to oversee the development of its member companies - over a hundred in France today. From all sectors (jewellery, food, textiles and fashion accessories, cosmetics, etc.), the FVD provides them with a wide range of legal, commercial, administrative and media support.
