Elora takes action to protect the environment

As part of its commitment to ecology and the emancipation of women, Elora supports the GoodPlanet Foundation.

What is the GoodPlanet Foundation?
Created in 2005 as an association on the initiative of Yann Arthus-Bertrand, the Good Planet Foundation was recognised as being of public utility in 2009. It carries out actions in favour of ecology and humanism.
The GoodPlanet Foundation focuses on 3 main areas of action(to be found on their website):
- Environmental and solidarity projects in the field
- Raising awareness and educating people about sustainable development
- Supporting companies and institutions in their eco-responsibility initiatives
Elora, a committed ready-to-wear brand, has decided to help the GoodPlanet Foundation by providing financial support for ecological projects.
Global warming and the Action Carbone Solidaire programme
In 2006, the GoodPlanet Foundation set up the Action Carbone Solidaire programme to combat global warming while helping people in need.
Through this project, the Foundation puts in place actions to promote sustainable and economically viable activities to safeguard our planet, always for the benefit of disadvantaged populations. It is this programme that Elora has decided to support.
Today, the Action Carbone Solidaire programme represents around fifty projects supported, the construction of 8 bioclimatic schools to raise young people's awareness of environmental conservation, overa million trees planted and 170,000 beneficiaries from underprivileged populations.
Pilot project: development of the Moringa sector in the Piura region
Elora has signed up to Action Carbone Solidaire's pilot project to develop the Moringa sector (a tree native to India) in the Piura region of Peru, by providing financial support.
This project has a number of aims that are entirely in line with the values promoted by the Elora brand:
- To combat malnutrition, particularly among women and children, thanks to the nutritional qualities of the Moringa plant
- Reforesting the Piura region and developing a sustainable Moringa industry
- Helping women to become emancipated thanks to the work provided by Moringa cultivation
We're proud of the results, because Elora has helped to plant 1,200 Moringa trees, helped 19 Moringa producers to set up in the region and enabled 138 people to benefit from the development of the Moringa sector.
