1 - AGREEING TO BECOME A VDI ENTREPRENEUR
Making a living from home selling means first and foremost becoming your own boss. To become a self-employed salesperson, you need to set up a micro-business. The formalities are quick and easy. You can also choose to register with the Trade and Companies Register (RCS). Unlike salaried employment, this status offers many advantages in terms of freedom to manage your time and organise your assignments.
You will have to create your own schedule, decide on your sales strategy, prioritise your actions and organise yourself without anyone telling you what to do on a daily basis. 2 - BE ORGANISED AND RIGOROUS
Being a home seller, whether as a supplement to your income or on a full-time basis, requires you to be organised and meticulous. You have to manage your schedule and appointments on your own, taking into account the availability of your customers.
The key is to create a real working environment for yourself (a room, an office area, etc.) as well as the right work tools (computer, diary, notebook, telephone, filing cabinets, etc.). Everything you need to perfect your organisation and guarantee your customers and hostesses the best possible service.
The good news on the administrative side is that the company that employs you is generally responsible for declaring and paying your social security contributions.
If you like to be independent and are well organised from the outset, working as a VDI could be just the thing for you.
3 - WORK YOUR NETWORK
To be a good door-to-door salesperson, you need to be sociable enough to maintain and grow your customer portfolio. So you need to take care of your network by talking to everyone around you: family, friends, work colleagues... Any opportunity is a good one to talk about your business! It can also be a good idea to distribute business cards or flyers in your geographical area, to reach a wider target.
You also need to be comfortable speaking at sales meetings and advising your customers on products that might interest them. A good home sales assistant is therefore a sociable person who knows how to meet people and likes to be surrounded on a daily basis. They need to be able to create a friendly atmosphere to encourage discussion and the desire to buy. They also need to be commercially-minded, so that they can highlight the various advantages of their products and generate sales.
4 - CHOOSING THE RIGHT HOME SHOPPING BRAND
Being a home seller is like turning your passion into a profession. If you really want to succeed as a home seller, choose a brand that suits you and that offers products you like. To be able to sell them, you need to like the brand and the products you offer and be convinced of their quality!
