Spring 2022 promises to be a festival of vibrant hues against an ocean breeze. Gone are the cosy outfits and plethora of jogging suits of the past, replaced by the radiant Elora woman and her joie de vivre. Now's the time to open up your wardrobe to a breath of fresh air and give it some new must-have pieces. Discover the Spring 2022 trends that you need to get hold of as soon as possible!
THE MUST-HAVE PIECES FOR YOUR SPRING WARDROBE
The warm weather is back, and we're saying yes to the return of bare legs, which are very much in vogue. After months of jogging suits and plaids, the mini is making a comeback. In a slight 60s revival, dresses and skirts will be raised a few centimetres above the knee, so you don't miss out on a good tanning opportunity. But fans of long dresses won't be left out in the cold. The ruffled dress is a must if you want to be at the top of the trends. We'll be pairing it with a denim jacket, with a faded effect, or dyed in a warm colour for a more bohemian chic style. Once again this year, we're wearing belts! It's one of our top tips for structuring a look in a matter of seconds. Pair your flowing little dress with a chic knit, then belt it!
If you're not a fan of skirts, but don't want to be confined by jeans either, opt for a trouser suit in steely hues. As well as being tasteful, they'll suit every body type. You'll be able to pull off ultra-desirable looks, whatever your age! Whether you wear it with a strappy sandal for a chic look, with trainers for an effortless style or with mules for an officewear look... There's something for everyone.
The workwear and tailoring style is set to continue this season, with one exception. It's expanding. The trend will be for fluid, with cuts that are a little more flare and daring. For evening wear, we'll be pulling out all the stops with pieces in strong colours.
Finally, little blouses and flowing shirts will be in their timeless place. Perfect for covering up without getting too hot, they are our fashion and comfort allies in all circumstances. For a stylish look, Elora combines them with colourful jeans or long skirts.
Gypset style, tennis stripes, tropical foliage... Take a closer look at this ball of summer prints
Both chic and bohemian, this season's prints are full of meaning and style. On the menu, a hippie chic look concocted by a gypset pattern that can be applied to a 3/4-sleeve blouse or loose, cropped trousers. The fringed effect, also spotted on the catwalks, will add movement to any outfit and allure to those who dare to wear it. The exotic and tropical trend can be worn with trouser suits or short, light dresses. Easy to combine, it goes perfectly with colour block shades for a glamorous, sophisticated silhouette.
After this winter's knitwear with contrasting stripes and the revisited marinière effect, the tennis stripe will also be making a strong comeback. Whether worn as a total working-girl look, or as a bohemian stripe on a floaty blouse, it's a print you won't want to leave in the cloakroom.
ZOOM IN ON THE KEY COLOURS FOR SPRING 2022
When it comes to colours, we're going all out and embracing them! Symbolic of the last few months since the pandemic, with repeated confinements, closures of public establishments and anxiety, the summer palette is both soft and explosive, reflecting an unconditional need for appeasement and new-found freedom. This quest for serenity will be reflected in a range of bluish shades, complemented by powdery pinks and delicate khakis, symbolic of a light, comforting spirit.
But the more daring, in search of adventure and optimism, will turn to pieces tinged with fuchsia pink, 'Illuminating' yellow, coral orange, delicate red or even mint water green. We're freeing ourselves, we're daring, we're expressing ourselves through vibrant, tangy shades. Immaculate white is also a must in our wardrobes. Whether worn over a dress, a sleeveless jacket or a shirt, it will give you a healthy glow and go perfectly with this season's blush shades.
