Have you set up your business to offer your services to companies and earn extra money? You should be aware that you are obliged to declare all your income, including that generated by any additional activity, whatever your line of work. What are your obligations? How do you declare your income online? As the employer of over 1,300 self-employed home-based ready-to-wear saleswomen, Elora shares its knowledge with you.
WHAT IS ADDITIONAL PAY?
Before going into detail about the steps you need to take to declare additional income, it's important to define the concept. If you have a supplementaryincome, it means that you receive a sum of money linked to a secondary activity that you carry out in addition to your main job. It's possible to have two completely different jobs, or on the contrary to have tasks similar to those carried out for your original job. Note, however, that you are obliged to inform your employer if your activity involves using identical skills and targeting similar customers.
WHAT ARE THE STEPS INVOLVED IN DECLARING ADDITIONAL INCOME?
Do you work as a self-employed home seller (VDI) to supplement your income? Then you need to declare the money earned from your secondary activity to two main bodies: URSSAF and the tax department. Contrary to popular belief, these days it's quite simple to do this via their websites.
URSSAF allows you to record your turnover in euros by filling in a form on its website or application. Depending on the arrangements you choose beforehand, this operation must be carried out every month or quarter and will determine the amount of social security contributions due. As far as tax is concerned, you can set up a payment in full discharge (versement libératoire) to be deducted at the same time as your contributions. However, you will still be required to complete an annual tax return.
